Do the horrors of the world ever start blurring around you, while you are trying to focus on the future, while not being able let go of the past, that the present just starts mixing?
Yes, for me too.
In this project I tried to translate that feeling, by looking at the three most disrupted landscapes by environmental change. From those landscapes I took the most endangered animal species and from the skins and furs of these species I made new fabric prints. Mingling them all together.
It is hard to grasp it right now, but these animals might not exist anymore in a few years. The child wearing garments made of the of the fabrics with my prints and patterns, might not ever get to see the animals they were inspired by.
Together with the set the child is in it shoes the blur of the present. Of all the landscapes that are ever-changing, so for a second, we can take a breath and take it all in.
